I'm currently a sophomore looking for an internship in software development/engineering is getting harder and harder. Any tips to stand out and make those internships next summer? I feel like I cant keep up with anyone these days...

Hi! I’m a high school student looking to start a passion project that aligns with my interests in coding (html, css, js, AI/ML) i wanted to take major as Com sci, chess, dance, and volunteering with neurodiverse kids in NGO. I want to make a meaningful impact and ideally build something that helps others or showcases creativity. I’d love suggestions on projects that combine any of these areas, especially those I could grow over time or possibly turn into a passion project. Thank you!

What types of options do i have to start my engineering career as a highschooler ?
I am looking to become an engineer, but I'm still only in high school,l and I don't know what type of path I should take, so if it's a college degree or an internship I still don't know much.

Electrical Engineering has always been my dream career, it pays well, it's difficult, I get to help people, and I get to work and innovate with electricity, which is a commodity that our developing world needs. However, gaining real applicable experience isn't always easy.
